Cosmedics Skin Clinics has announced further expansion of The Haemorrhoid Clinic, due to high demand for private treatment of troublesome piles and related conditions in London. 

The Haemorrhoid Clinic launched in summer 2021, offering advanced haemorrhoids treatments as day case surgery with leading London Consultant Colorectal Surgeon, Mr Alex Von Roon MB CHB PHD FRCS.

Since then, 2 further surgeons have joined the team –

What’s more, the service has expanded with 2 additional clinics.

When it commenced, The Haemorrhoid Clinic was exclusively located at Cosmedics’ Harley Street Clinic in central London.

Services were subsequently introduced to the City of London clinic when it located to new premises towards the end of 2022 and now The Haemorrhoid Clinic is also offering consultations and treatment in Putney, bringing the service to those based in South West London for the first time.

The Haemorrhoid Clinic services

As you’d expect, The Haemorrhoid Clinic specialises in treating troublesome piles. A wide range of treatments is available including the ‘gold standard’ radio frequency ablation, also known as the Rafaelo procedure, which uses radiofrequency to treat the piles. The treatment works by heating the haemorrhoids up which then causes them to shrink and seal off. The success rate is around 90% in a single one-off treatment.

Other more traditional treatment options are also available, which may be offer a cost-effective solution for smaller piles. Banding or ligation involves placing a tiny rubber ligature around the haemorrhoid. This cuts of the blood supply so that the it simply shrivels and falls away.

Another alternative is haemorrhoid injections. Here a very sticky substance is injected into the pile. This then causes the haemorrhoids to shrink and collapse.

In addition, the clinics also offer treatment for other issues:

• Anal fissures
• Anal skin tags
• Anal warts

This means that a comprehensive result can be achieved for ultimate satisfaction.
