Heliocare Advanced
The Heliocare Advanced sunscreen products provide high-level protection at SPF50 with broad spectrum UVA | UVB efficacy as measured using the international standard CALIPA and FDA 360nm methods.
The formulation uses a special combination of mineral and nonmineral filters as well as filter-efficacy enhancers such as sunspheres. It also provides evidenced-based antioxidant protection using a patented extract of the fern Polypodium leucotomos known as Fernblock, which has been proven in a series of clinical and scientific studies to:
- Reduce generation of free radicals
- Prevent UV induced DNA damage
- Reduce UV induced cell death
- Protect and reduce damage to langerhan cells
- Protect fibroblasts and extracellular matrix
- Reduce UV induced skin reactions
As well as Fernblock, Heliocare also incorporates other vitamin-based and plant-derived antioxidants including green tea extract, vitamin E and DNA repair enzyme ingredients.
