Even large moles that have been there for a lifetime become a distant memory and many patients are surprised when they look back on photos to see how large and prominent their moles were. Once the initial healing is complete, the scars fade and become less and less noticeable.

All moles are sent away for testing to be on the safe side, even though the vast majority turn out to be quite harmless and are removed for cosmetic reasons rather than medical concern.
